Paul Carbone, 91, of Southington, CT passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 after a long illness. Paul was born on July 15, 1927 in Somerset, PA, but spent most of his life in New Britain. He served honorably in the United States Navy at the tail end of WWII. Paul worked for many decades as a machinist at Fafnir Bearing Company until he retired in the 1980s. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Paul loved nature and the outdoors. He also loved golfing and bowling, both of which he enjoyed until the age of 90. Paul was the oldest person to ever score a perfect bowling game on the East coast and was awarded a commemorative ring to recognize his achievement.

Paul is survived by his five children, Paul Carbone, Mary Ann Toro, Patricia Bielstein, Jennifer Peifer and Kathryn Carbone., his brother, Samuel Carbone and sister, Rose Banasik, his eight grandchildren, John Carbone, Paula Carbone, Mallory Carbone, Robert Toro, Victoria Bielstein, Christina Bielstein, Michael Carbone, Jr., Gino Carbone and his step-grandson Michael Cabuta as well as several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his youngest son, Michael Carbone, his brother and four sisters.
Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
