Alma M. Jackson, 83, of New Britain, CT went home to be with the Lord Friday, May 3, 2019 at home. Alma was born in Macon, GA and was the daughter of the late Issac and Katie (Harvey) Martin. She was a longtime member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

Alma is survived by her daughter Dawn D. Jackson of New Britain, CT, her two sisters Elestine Nicholson of West Hartford, CT and Laverta Mobley of Bowling Green, KY, and her brother Raemond Martin of New York, her sister-in-law Clara Fort of Newington, CT and her special cousin Elizabeth Miles of Macon, GA., her seven grandchildren, Jamal Campos, Ajamu Mayes, Marcella Jackson, Imaran Mayes, Rashida McCuiston, Jelani Mayes, Melvin Kelley IV, her thirteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and God children. Alma was predeceased by her husband Jerry H. Jackson and her daughter Lynn C. Jackson.
Homegoing Celebration for Alma will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Ave., New Britain, CT with the Rev. Dr. John W. Walker, Pastor, presiding. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT.
