James Orell Amos Jr., 62, of New Britain, CT departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, November 13th, 2019. James was born in Greenville, MS. May 18th, 1957 and was the son of the late James Orell. Amos Sr. & Charlesetta Amos. He was well known for being the life of the party along with any room he entered. His laugh was contagious and he loved having a good time. James was very dependable and never missed an opportunity to help a friend or family member in need. During his high school years he was the star quarterback player at Riverside High School, which prompted his love and passion for Football. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. James attended Mississippi Delta Junior College and later served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of the International Union of Painters. James went on to become the CEO of “The New Look Painting & Drywall”. Some of his specialties included remodeling, indoor/outdoor renovation and so much more. He was the grill master at all his events and never missed an opportunity to BBQ for his family and friends. Music was a big part of his life, he was a DJ and a lover of Country, Blues & RnB music. James was a loving Husband, Father, Son. His favorite line “Hey Now”

Homegoing Celebration for James will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019 at 12 p.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 45 Daly Ave., New Britain, CT with the Bishop Dale I. Shaw, Pastor, presiding. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Service of Comfort and Compassion provided by the Paul A.
