Elzbieta Krawczynska, née Pletkiewicz, 83, of Farmington CT, died peacefully Sunday, January 28, 2020 of natural causes. Elzbieta was born in Wyganow, Poland on May 30, 1936. She survived World War II and upon completion of school, became a school teacher. At age 19, she met her to-be husband, Wieslaw, and after their marriage in 1956, moved with him to Wroclaw where he served in the Polish Army. Elzbieta went on to completed her Masters in History and Education in 1976 and continued to be an educator her entire career. She was known for her intelligence, honesty, generosity, and sharp wit. After she retired, Elzbieta moved to the countryside where she lived with her husband till his death, and continued to live in their home until the age of 79. In addition to being an avid reader, Elzbieta had a great love of flowers, enjoyed gardening, and always prepared arrangements and home-made preserves from her garden for loved ones. She immigrated to the United States in 2015.

Elzbieta is survived by her loving family, most of whom are in Poland. She was predeceased by her husband, Wieslaw Krawczynski, who passed away in 2006.
Funeral rites for Elzbieta will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. with the procession departing at 9 a.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, New Britain, CT. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right.
