Stephen Ludwin, 73, of Berlin, CT passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at home. Stephen was born in New Britain, CT on September 26, 1946 and was the son of the late Walter and Ann (Sobotkiewicz) Ludwin. Stephen was predeceased by his wife of forty-eight years Sharon (Goodrich) Ludwin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country honorably during the Vietnam War. Stephen worked for Stanley Works for twenty-five years, where he also served as a union steward, and later retired from Waterbury Rolling Mills. He was an active member of the IPIC in Berlin, the BPPC of Berlin and an avid golfer and member of the Timberlin Golf Club.

Stephen is survived by his daughter Susan Ludwin of Berlin, CT, his son Stephen Ludwin, Jr and his wife Christina of New Britain, CT, his daughter Stefanie (Ludwin) Gagnon and her husband David of Berlin, CT and his two grandchildren David Enzo Gagnon and Isabella Marie Gagnon. He also leaves behind many friends.
Funeral services for Stephen will be held Monday, March 9, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. from the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT Relatives and friends may call at the Paul A. Shaker Funeral Home Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Directions to funeral home – I-84 east or west, exit 37 (Fienemann Rd) right off exit – one mile down on right. Burial will be private in Maple Cemetery, Berlin, CT. Military honors for Mr. Ludwin will be rendered by the United States Air Force will follow the funeral home service. The American flag will be presented to Mr. Ludwin’s son, Stephen, Jr. and his grandson, David Enzo Gagnon.
