Jehlon Rose, 19, of New Britain, CT passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 27, 2020 at UMass Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by his parents and siblings. Jehlon and his twin brother Tehron Rose were born to Tehron and Melissa Rose, on October 30, 2001. He attended New Britain High School and graduated in June of 2019, where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball team and Honors Society, in addition to winning several science awards at the regional science convention. He was a very caring young man who had a way of putting a smile on your face and always putting others first; whether it was showing up to his grandparents’ house to help with yard work or showing up to his mother’s job just to surprise her with flowers. Jehlon enjoyed playing a variety of sports such as baseball, basketball and football. His passion for sports began when he was just four years old and it continued throughout his life. He participated in many youth sports programs, such as AAU, Parks & Rec, Boys and Girls Club, Pop Warner and AYF football, where he achieved multiple championships.
Jehlon is survived by his parents Melissa and Tehron; his siblings Raymond, Tehron, Elisha, Tayana and Lenashja. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Tracy and Maria Mitchell, as well as Kim Rose-Little, all of New Britain, CT. Jehlon is also survived by his uncles, aunts and many other family members and friends. Jehlon was predeceased by grandparents, Adrian Cancel, Tammi Elliott, and Diana Richardson; aunts Carolyn James and Barbara Outler, as well as his cousin Malek Rose.
Funeral rites for Jehlon will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 at 12 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 147 West Main St., New Britain, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain, CT.
