Rocco Dipierro, 99, of Newington, CT passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at home with his wife and daughter, Anna by his side. Rocco was born on August 12, 1921 in Junitaville, PA and was the son of the late Mary (Volpe) Gionfriddo. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and served his country honorably, and upon his return from serving in WWII, he moved to New Britain, CT, met and married the love of his life in 1947, sharing over seventy-three wonderful years together. Rocco worked at Stanley Works for forty-six years working his way up from a tool and die maker to a Human Resource Manager before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed summer vacations with his family in Long Island, traveling to Florida and Atlantic City, New Jersey with his beloved wife. Rocco loved spending time in his garden and coaching third-base for his daughter’s summer women’s softball team where he was lovingly known as “Mr. D”. Nothing was more important to him than his wife and family. He was a kind, gentle soul that was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Rocco is survived by his loving wife, Theresa and four children, Rocco Dipierro and his wife Martha, Robert Dipierro, Mary Salafia, and Anna Dipierro. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jamie, Michael, Emily, and Joseph.
Funeral rites for Rocco will be held Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church St., Newington, CT. There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church. Committal service and final resting place will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain, CT. The Paul A.
