Michael Darren Cistulli, 52, of New Britain, CT born on July 1, 1968, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Michael was a beloved friend and family-oriented man. His charismatic spirit and laughter will be remembered by all that knew and loved him. Michael was a loyal, kind, and generous soul. From an early age, he always cared about the underdog. He made friends wherever he went, even when just stopping at the corner store for scratch tickets. Michael was quick-witted and could find humor in every situation. His laughter was infectious, and he loved making people smile. Mike was extremely passionate about golf and was most happy on the course. He enjoyed watching football and going to Calvo’s for fight night. Although he never pursued a career as a trumpet player, he was the first recipient of the Conrad Gozzo award. Michael grew up in New Britain, CT. He was the son of the late Joseph D. Cistulli, a world-class clarinet, saxophone, prominent band musician, and a master craftsman upholster. Michael’s mother, the late Rose Marie Cistulli, was born in Marseille, France, and grew up in NYC, where she trained as a world-class vocalist. Michael and his mom had a profoundly unique and devoted relationship. Being currently employed at EJ Electric in Wallingford, CT, he loved working and was a member of the IBEW Local 42 Union. Mike was a heavy equipment operator and enjoyed going on storms with his colleagues. Our beloved Michael is survived by his fiancé Tonya Magoon of Rutland, VT; stepson Markie Sanchez of New Britain, CT, sister Donna Marie Cistulli of New Britain, CT, brother Joseph G. Cistulli, his wife Nancy Moore Cistulli and their two children, daughter Isabella Mary Rose and son Dante Vincenzo of Howell, MI and lastly, his poet, artist, and producer brother C.C. Arshagra of New Britain, CT. Michael had many amazing lifelong friends, including his best friends Joe Rubino, Joey Calvo, Butch Marzi, Sebby Trovato, Johnny Attuno, Rob Rubino, and Paul Buffalino. Michael also had many more friends, new and old, including Hector Rodriguez and family, and too many others to mention (you know who you are). Calling hours will be at Paul A.
